Growing up and starting preschool

Mama was very sad last week because our little pumpkin started preschool two days a week for almost four hours per day. Henry was fine when I left him with his teacher and classmates but I cried like a baby all the way home. I then watched his every move from my laptop for about three hours and couldn't wait to pick him up before nap time.

As I watched our little boy from outside his classroom for about ten minutes, the teachers were preparing the kids for nap time and at one point, Henry tried to climb into another girl's nap mat! I silently laughed into my hands and thought, "Daddy would be proud." Then, he noticed me standing outside...and cried. I couldn't help but cry, too. He didn't know whether to inform a teacher of my presence or to walk directly over to me but he decided to run over to his mama. I quietly opened the door for him and we both sat on the carpet and hugged and cried until his teacher came out to talk to me: he cried on and off, didn't touch his yoghurt, loved outside time, and finished his lunch. Good first day :).

On Thursday, Henry said "no" as soon as we walked up to the school building and cried when we entered his classroom. He buried his head on my leg, which broke my heart but I had to stay strong and not linger around. From my home computer, I could tell he was very upset and somewhat detached. However, after very little interaction from our big guy he was suddenly up (from his comfortable position of rolling around the carpet) and DANCING to "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes"! I was so relieved and extremely happy to have witnessed this! :D

Anyway, here are some photos of the month :). Chat soon.
